Corki Weeks Statement Necklace

CORKI WEEKS: A BRASS STATEMENT NECKLACE, 1975

Suspending a sculptural geometric design from a brass collar, signed Corki Weeks, length 15 in., pendant measures 5 1/2 x 2 3/8 in.

Corki Weeks was a mid century artist, well known for creating fantastic kaleidescopes around the late 1970's and for the next 30 years or so. There is not a lot of biolographical information on her other than her work with kaleidescopes.

This is a modernistic style neckace from her early career. She has etched her name and the year 1974 on the back, and indicated that it is made of brass and sterling. I have only seen one other necklace made by her that did not involve kaleidecopes.
